Catfish Pale Ale – Ceder Brew at their best

news nosmallbeerThere’s almost a candied orange character to the malt in Ceder Brew’s pale ale. A hugely attractive translucent burnished copper hue greets one, with a light tan head with medium bead and stay. On the nose the malt is immediately apparent, enrobed, more in a lack of any unpleasant flavouring than anything specific.

There’s a baked quality to this malt, almost reminiscent of Chinese white gourd; a bisquitiness, if you will, but more specific and fragrant, like the crusts of white aniseed rusks baked in a well-greased pan.
